Pack your ski bag for its stay in Japan

A little preparation makes each handover easier. Pack for both the journey and the time your gear will spend in storage.

Dry and protect your gear

Let skis, boards, boots and other eligible gear dry before packing. Protect edges and fragile parts, secure loose items and use a suitable ski or snowboard bag that closes properly. Check the carrier’s packaging requirements before handover.

02 /

Weigh the complete bag

The standard bag limit is 25 kg including the bag and everything inside. Weigh it after packing. Contact us about unusual dimensions before arranging transport; do not assume all long or bulky bags qualify for the standard rate.

03 /

Make the bag easy to identify

Use the same name as your booking and follow your collection instructions. Remove obsolete delivery labels and keep your own photos and a contents list. Our check-in photos record the exterior, not the individual items inside.

04 /

Leave unsuitable items out

Only eligible ski and snowboard gear should go in the bag. Dangerous or restricted items, perishables and unrelated commercial goods are not accepted. If you are unsure about an item, contact support before packing it.

Check your flight from Australia

Qantas includes eligible sporting equipment within the checked allowance, subject to its packing and size rules; excess charges can apply. Jetstar treats oversized handling separately from the checked weight allowance. Check the official policy links below and every operating carrier on your booking.

Weigh the complete packed bag at home, then check its dimensions. A 25 kg Snow Locker bag is not a promise that your airline ticket includes 25 kg of luggage. Leave room in your allowance for other checked items.

Before you hand over your bag

  • Equipment and bag thoroughly dry
  • Edges protected and loose items secured
  • Packed bag weighed: 25 kg or less
  • Name, Bag ID if assigned, and handover instructions checked
  • Your own contents list and photographs saved

Frequently asked questions

What is the bag weight limit?

The Australian plan covers a standard ski or snowboard travel bag up to 25 kg, including the bag itself. Dimensions and weight are checked. Oversize or overweight bags and remote-area services require confirmation and a separate quote; acceptance is not automatic.

Can I pack my gear wet?

Dry your equipment and bag thoroughly before closing it for storage. Protect sharp edges and secure loose items in a suitable ski or snowboard travel bag.

Does the storage weight limit match my airline allowance?

Not necessarily. Check every operating airline’s baggage, size and sports-equipment rules. Snow Locker’s Australian standard bag limit is 25 kg; an airline may apply a different limit or an additional handling charge.
